Once again distracted driving is a hot topic in BC, with hints that new increased penalties are on the way.

It is probably good to remember that the driving world is not divided between people who text and talk all the time while driving and those who never do. Rather than expect that new penalties will solve the problem it would be helpful for all of us to remember that we are not and if we all reduce the number of quick little glances and cheats we will all be safer.

If you are one of the few who turns their phone off when they get behind the wheel, or puts it in the trunk than you can congratulate yourself for being part of the solution.
