Crash Mitigation Technology and Accident Rates

On Feb 23 Greg Horn of Mitchell presented their quarterly Industry Trends Webinar to interested collision repairers in the US and Canada.

One of many interesting statistics is that accident rates are not going down, despite the implementation of more and more accident avoidance and mitigation technologies.

It appears that while one use of technology making cars better and safer this is not enough to counteract the bad habits that have developed with other uses of technology. Distracted driving appears to be working against the positive effect of accident avoidance and the result is an accident rate that is not going down.
